Miracles At Kandahar Cemetery In Afghanistan

picture: BBC
This presents us with another facet of the world and the war. This morning the BBC reports: Kandahar's cemetery of 'miracles' Dawood Azami BBC Pashto service "At Kandahar's Arab cemetery, victims of the US "war on terror" are revered by many as shaheed (martyrs) and their graves are believed to possess miraculous powers. Each day, hundreds of sick people visit the graves of more than 70 Arab and other foreign fighters and their family members who were killed in US bombing in the southern Afghan city in late 2001. " ... 'Several paralysed people have left the cemetery walking on their own two feet,'says Sangeena. " This poses a problem. I am sure the administration does not want to become victim to a "miracle" gap...or to succumb to some sort of "Miracle-Gate". We have certainly had enough people die that we could have our own miracle place. Mr. President, I do not know how long it has been since you talked to your pal, God (Actually Pazuzu, but we won't go into that now.) but it's time to hang the cost of a long distance connection and chew the fat with His Nibs. The whole election 2008 depends on a few miracles, more or less.

"The whole election 2008 depends on a few miracles, more or less."

I only want to point out your assumptions (with a smile and a pat on your shoulder): First, you assume that the 2008 election is important. Second, you assume that anyone who gets elected is going to perform some useful function in our lives (other than marketing for our particular favorite corporation), and third, you assume there is such a thing as a miracle.
Hope is what the Jews had when they got on the trains to Auschwitz. Hope is what a cow has when it gets on the truck to go to the slaughterhouse. Hope has no place in deciding the future of the planet. We need reason, logic, and compassion for people who will be living here after us, not just our bankers.
As Derrick Jensen reminds us, "The Jews who fought back in the ghettos had a better survival rate than those who went along with the System."
Thanks for visiting my blog. You improved it.:-)

Thanks.
I like the points you bring up. I like the points anybody brings up. If no one talks to me, I just wander on in my own little world and get into strange ways...as they used to say.

I am going to think about some of these things for a while.
However, I can quite easily point out that you are assuming that our "bankers" will still be in existence in the future.
Since they are in the process of destroying themselves...and us...at the present time, who knows?

It was good to see you again also.
