Governor Perry and the Inconsequentiality of Government

As recently as May, Texas Governor Perry and the two Republican Senators from Texas were wailing about not receiving enough federal aid for their wildfires.

Now Gov. Perry is going to have to miss a Tea Party Sleep-Over at Jim DeMint's in South Carolina and go back home to Texas, because the drought drags on and the fires continue.
He may have to beg the Federal Government - which he wants to makes "inconsequential" in our lives - to provide aid "on the sly" so he may maintain his Tea Party bona fides, and to avoid seeming to make government awfully consequential and important to the welfare of Texans.

Irony; reversal; pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall... unless it rains soon. Welcome to the crowd of the rest of us shlubs, Governor Perry.
