Hurricane Sandy Follow-Up

My daughter's family did not lose power in Maryland, even though the wind beat at them and it rained from Sunday to Tuesday morning. She said that the Derecho storm back in the spring was much, much scarier: the rain was blowing sideways and the winds were brutal.

Most of us forgot this.
She said that that storm probably knocked down most of the weak and dead trees, cutting the power back then, and that is why they made it through Hurricane Sandy with no loss of power.

Once again, I marvel at a country where a presidential election can be held without mentioning the dangers and costs of the new type of climate.

It was too much like The Day After: Manhattan being flooded by the sea, feet and feet of snow, rain, and vast destruction.

We cannot afford any government by people who are opposed to Science.
