Crux of Politics

The Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem under the Emperor Titus

The Cross (crux) upon which our political beliefs may die.

I think that is what the title means. I derive it from a discussion on Heraclitus by Felix Cleve, wherein a certain philosophic fragment was termed the "crux philogorum", or the cross of the philologists; i.e., the thing which will test them and proof them... it will make or break them as masters of the Greek language.

So the Crux of International Politics for me is the Right-Wing of Israel:

... On Sunday, Netanyahu said, Palestinians’ “unwillingness to accept a Jewish state in any borders whatsoever is the root of the conflict. … The Palestinian Authority is unwilling to move towards accepting the existence of the State of Israel.”...

And the point here is that Mr. Abbas accepts the State of Israel, but does not say "Jewish" State.

About 20% of Israel's population is Arab, 82% of these are Muslim, 9% are Christian, and 9% are Druze. What happens to these minorities when Mr. Abbas - or, indeed, the rest of the world - accepts the formula that Israel is a "Jewish" State?
Zechariah 9:10  And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
There is only one dominion, and it is no political state.
There is only one dominion, and it is not the offspring of wars and compulsion.
There is only one dominion, and it is not a sign nor an augur; it does not portend the coming or the passing of events. It is one.
