Been There, Done That

The White House is saying that they doubt whether the Syrian rebels have used nerve gas. This comes despite what has been indicated by the findings of UN investigators.

Back in the day, the UN investigators said that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction, but that story did not fit in with the story our intelligence wanted to sell. They also were Europeans, and we knew we were better at sniffing out WMDs than were Europeans.

We have seen it all before.
Why don't they try something a little less obvious?
