Nothing New Under The Sun

Latin Rulz!

When I was at Lakeside Mall buying my newly-won size 36 trousers (won in the Battle of the Bulge), I was also people watching, and watching all the kids mall walking.

Ovid in his Ars Amatoria recommends the porticusa covered walk between columns, colonnade, piazza, arcade, gallery, porch, portico running along the forum and market areas; i.e., a mall, as being an excellent place to meet girls.
Juvenal also mentions it in his Satires.

(Note for Auxilium Latinum  members:  porticus is 4th declension, female gender.)
