When I wrote of the film The Day After Tomorrow, I did not mean to imply that the science in the film has any sound scientific basis. I was merely emphasizing the speed at which things may change.
It was a license on my part, but I remember not so long ago - and even at present - when it was widely believed that climate changes occur over long periods of time. There was sort of a notion of geological epochs required.
Not true.
